Co-Director – Annabel Reed

Annabel studies Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Harris Manchester College, Oxford. Alongside her studies, she has worked as a professional actor and musical theatre teacher. Her professional experience includes; Director and head of Musical Theatre (Southfields World of Dance School) Dance Captain (The Blues Brothers Party (UK Tour)), Choreographer/Assistant Director – Loserville (Sutton High School and Sutton Grammar) Director/Choreographer – World of Dance Showcases (2010 – 2013, 2015) Director – Matilda (World of Dance) Choreographer – Wimbledon High School – (Various) and her within Oxford drama; Dance Captain (Singin’ in The Rain (Oxford Playhouse)) and Choreographer (Keble Musical Theatre Showcase (2016)). She graduated from Guildford School of Acting, with a degree in Musical Theatre (BA) in 2010 (where she was a Prizewinner in 2008). Whilst completing her degree, she was assessed for finals the following modules: Shakespeare, Choreography (Contemporary dance), Social Dance, Tap, Ballet, Moveme nt (Le Coq mask), Musical Theatre (singing), Voice, Textual Context, Dissertation (Playwriting and Direction), Performance and Showcase. In Second and first year, her training included the following modules: Devised Dance, Contemporary dance, Ballet, Tap, Musical Theatre Jazz, Social Dance (Charleston, Foxtrot, Salsa, Rumba) Double Work (lifts), Animal Studies, Le Coq Mime, Physical Storytelling, Context and Criticism, Shakespeare, Accent and Dialect, Greek Tragedy and Character. Her formal Dance Qualificat ions include IDTA Ballet (Grade 7), Jazz (Grade 8), Tap (Grade 8). And her Stage Combat Qualifications: (British Academy of Dramatic Combat (BDAC) Level 3 (Gold)) (Weapons including; rapier and dagger, unarmed combat, knife, broadsword and buckler, found objects and quarterstaff.) Annabel has been involved in much theatre while at Oxford, including Rent, Singin’ in the Rain and West Side Story at the Oxford Playhouse.

Co-Director- Naomi Morris Omori

Naomi is a second year student studying English at St. Anne’s College. Whilst at Oxford, she has been Assistant Producer for West Side Story (Oxford Playhouse, 2015) and Orlando (Keble O’Reilly, 2014); Assistant Director for Stephen Sondheim’s Passion (Keble O’Reilly, 2015); and Director of Victoria Station (Cuppers, 2014, nominated for Best Play) and St. Anne’s College Musical Revue ( 2015). Most recently, Naomi has directed the musical Singin’ in the Rain (Oxford Playhouse, 2015) and the verbatim ense mble piece Monkey Bars (St Anne’s Arts Festival, 2016). Naomi has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in a group -devised musical for families, The Snow Cabinet. For her Drama A Level, she co-wrote and directed a verbatim musical, What They’re Looki ng For , inspired by a TV documentary on the Moulin Rouge, Paris. At school, she also acted in various plays, including: Antigone (Creon), Kneehigh’s Hansel & Gretel (Gretel), Jane Eyre and Rabbit. She is a member of Tokyo International Players.

Assistant Director – Imogen Learmoth

Imogen is a first year studying English at St. Peter’s. Hailing from the sunny land of Australia, whilst at Oxford Imogen has co-written skits for various comedy groups, and acting in her college’s cuppers performance (BT studio). Imogen has a solid background in acting, spending five consecutive years as part of the NSW State Drama Ensemble, where she acted in self -devised performances and such modern plays as Cyberbile and Basset. Her background in musical theatre includes roles in Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat, Pirates of Penzance and the lead in her school’s production of Chicago. Having caught the directing bug at Oxford, she hopes to try her hand behind the glitz and glam of the stage as part of a production team!

Musical Director- Leo Munby

Leo Munby is a 4th year reading Chinese at Wadham College. Since coming to Oxford, Leo has been involved in myriad shows, including: Producers (Oxford Playhouse, 2013; keyboard), Chicago (O’Reilly Theatre, 2013; AMD, repetiteur, keyboard), Sweeney Todd (O’Reilly Theatre, 2014; AMD, repetiteur, keyboard), Semi-Monde (Oxford Playhouse, 2014; orchestrator), Die Letzten Tage der Menschheit (Burton Taylor Studio, 2014; composer), Parade (O’Reilly Theatre, 2014; co-director, MD), Songs for a New World (Chinese language workshop at Star Theatre Beijing, June 2015; MD, orchestrator, translation supervisor), Acting Through Song Showcase (Beijing Conservatoire, July 2015; MD, lecturer), Singin’ in the Rain (Wycombe Swan, August 2015; AMD, repetiteur), Singin’ in the Rain (Oxford Playhouse, 2015; AMD, repetiteur), The Changing of the Guard (O’Reilly Theatre, 2016; MD [dir. Iqbal Khan]), Keble Arts Week Musical Showcase (O’Reilly Theatre, 2016; MD, orchestrator), Cabaret (Pichette Theatre, 2016; accordion), Sweeney Todd (Queen’s Garden, 2016; repetiteur, keyboard, bassoon), Colin and Katya (North Wall Arts Centre, 2016; MD), Dr Doolittle (Wycombe Swan, August 2016; AMD, repetiteur). Upcoming: The Last Five Years (Michael Pilch Studio, 2016; MD). Leo is also MD for Vocal Balance UK, and was a visiting lecturer in acting through song at Beijing Central Conservatory of Music during his year abroad.

Assistant Musical Director – Chloe Rooke

Chloe is a 2nd year music student at St Catherine’s College, Oxford.  In school she was assistant musical director for productions of Hairspray (2013) and Grease (2014), as well as being musical director of the Jazz Band which performed throughout the year at various concerts and events, as well as on tour to Barcelona.  Alongside this, Chloe studied flute and piano at the Junior Department of the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she also took lessons in conducting and piano accompaniment.  Since arriving in Oxford, Chloe has been awarded the Repetiteur Scholarship with New Chamber Opera and through this has been repetiteur for Leonardo Leo’s La Zingaretta (2015) and a premiere of Galvani’s Rothschild’s Violin (2016), as well as two master-classes given by visiting professor of Opera, Jane Glover, (Recitative – 2015, Mozart Ensembles – 2016).  

 Producer- Ellen Southall-Garrad

Ellen is a third -year Economics and Management student at Keble College. She was extensively involved in Music and Drama while at secondary school, including as ‘Christine’ in Phantom and the Opera and ‘Miranda’ in Return to the Forbidden Planet. Other sh ows include Oliver!, Oklahoma, Oh What a Lovely War, and Dido and Aeneas. She produced the Keble Musical Showcase as part of Keble Arts Festival (O’Reilly Theatre, 2016). Ellen has led teams to deliver successful outcomes in a variety of contexts, such as: a short musical film, a quantitative data analysis project and a competition -winning choir performance. She is a founding board member of the Chiltern Music Academy, which she was instrumental in establishing in 2014. The Academy now has almost 500 members. As Keble’s JCR Treasurer, she manages assets of £30,000 and has proven that she is highly organised and very capable of managing a budget.

Assistant Producer – Ben Partridge

Ben is a third year undergraduate student at Keble College reading Biological Sciences. Over the years he has been able to experience a breadth of areas within theatre and the performing arts. Ben passed his grade seven acting LAMDA examinations with a distinction as well as performing in and directing several plays, such as ‘Pillo w Man’ by Martin McDonagh. During this time, he also choreographed a musical and become a regular lighting and sound technician for several plays. Whilst at Oxford, Ben has acted in a number of musicals, such as ‘Assassins’ (O’Reilly theatre 2014) and ‘The St Annes Musical Showcase’ (2015). He has also directed and helped produce the ‘Keble Musical Showcase: We Need to Talk’ (2016)

Marketing Manager- Mary Ormerod

Mary Ormerod is a third year history student at Jesus College, Oxford. She has worked as marketing assistant for Pentecost (Oxford Playhouse, 2015), and as marketing manager for Spring Awakening (Keble O’Reilly, 2015) and Binding (BT Studio, 2016). She currently works as the editorial and advertising assistant for the interior design magazine and website My Warehouse Home. She also plays double bass for Oxford University Orchestra and Oxford University Philharmonia and has played in the band for productions of Guys and Dolls (2012) and Oliver (2011). In her spare time she enjoys ballet, singing and dressmaking. She can also quote the movie Billy Elliot (2000) word for word.

Marketing Assistant- Gwenno Jones

Gwenno Jones is a third year reading Chemistry at Jesus College, Oxford. She has been very involved in Oxford University theatre, performing in a range of venues including the O’Reilly and the BT studio, her most notable performances coming in Singin’ in the rain (Playhouse, 2015) and Rent (Playhouse, 2016). In 2016 she produced and directed a performance of “Top Girls”. She is spending the summer performing at the Edinburgh fringe festival and is the co-producer for a play at the BT studio next November.

Choreographer – Rosalind McAlpine

Rosalind is a 2nd year student studying Psychology at New College. She trained at MDS (McAlpine Dance Studios), and having choreographed, and performed in, musicals throughout school, including Jesus Christ Superstar, Beauty and the Beast, The Producers, Guys and Dolls, Grease and West Side Story, she first got involved with dance in Oxford as a member of The Broad Street Dancers, where she performed in b oth Dynamica (2015) and Paradise (2016) at the Old Fire Station, as well as in multiple college Arts Weeks and Balls. She was assistant choreographer for the contemporary dance production Ten Duets on a Theme of Proximity at the Burton Taylor (2015), and also choreographed Attempts on the Life, also at the Burton Taylor (2016). This term she danced in Cabaret (2016) at the Pembroke Pichette.

Set designer- Gabriele Juzeliunaite

Gabriele is a Third Year Interior Architecture student at Oxford School of Architecture and has a particular interest in scenic and lighting design. She has had different experiences in designing spaces and creating decorations for various occasions. Gabriele participated in creating decorations for important school events and designed the set for the major final year school performance A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. Whilst at university, she participated in creating a set for a bid for a musical ‘ Company’ by Stephen Sondheim in 2015 and a short film ‘The Tie’ by Kevin Kelly in 2016. Gabriele has also collaborated with a London lifestyle brand team ‘Keep-Hush’ in 2015 and designed decorations for their event in Oxford. She has also produced a space and curated a workshop at one of the biggest arts and music festivals Loftas in Vilnius, Lithuania. Apart from creating for school plays and events, Gabriele also has experience as an assistant for a Graphic Designer, and a Spatial & Lighting designer. She is also a member of Oxford Architecture Society OxArch.

Lighting Designer- Jennifer Hurd

Jennifer is a second-year DPhil student at Exeter College, and holds a BA in English and Theatre from the University of Ottawa. She has built up a substantial body of professional work on both sides of the Atlantic, and works regularly as casual crew at both the New Theatre Oxford and the Oxford Playhouse. She has recently been the lighting designer for Fahrenheit 451 (Pilch, 2016), Doctor Faustus (O’Reilly, 2016) – described as a “masterclass in atmosphere” by The Oxford Student – and Yesterday (BT Studio, 2015); lighting and sound technician for The Tour (Spangle Entertainment, summer 2015); and assistant lighting designer for Living Together (Playhouse, 2015) and Noises Off (Playhouse, 2015). She was the sound designer for The Fairy Queen (Playhouse, 2016), and stage manager for RENT (Playhouse, 2016), Pentecost (Playhouse, 2015), and Singin’ in the Rain (Playhouse, 2015). She plans to spend her summer as a lighting technician at the Pleasance Grand in Edinburgh, and she will then be the deputy stage manager for The Nether (Playhouse, 2016) and Edward II (Playhouse, 2016). She is the current technical director of TEDx Oxford and president of the TAFF committee.

Associate Lighting Designer – Ollie Tobey

This is Ollie’s first credited Oxford Playhouse show, with a venue of this size and scale it brings new challenges but also new possibilities for creative set integration, working with a team who he has spent several shows with has given him the chance to expand his creativity. The show is one of terrific energy and opulence and this has been one of the driving themes behind the lighting design from the start.

Mark is a first year undergraduate studying Computer Science at Univ. Shows Mark has worked on before coming to Oxford include as Sound Director on Arms and the Man (Playhouse Theatre Cheltenham, 2015), Pyrotechnics Technician for The Wizard of Oz (Pate’s Grammar School, 2014), Lighting Designer on The Odyssey (Pate’s Grammar School, 2013) and other minor roles in school shows and performances. Since coming to Oxford he has worked as Assistant Lighting Designer on Pentecost (Oxford Playhouse, 2015), as an A2 on Singin’ In The Rain (Oxford Playhouse, 2015), Spring Awakening (O’Reilly, 2015) and RENT (Oxford Playhouse, 2016), and as Audio Systems Technician on Phantom of The Opera (O’Reilly, 2016).

Graphic Designer- Rebecca Marks

Rebecca is a second year reading English Language and Literature at Exeter College. She is an avid artist and animator, and has worked as a free-lance illustrator for two years, collaborating with a variety of people and brands. Since coming to Oxford, she became involved in marketing design for This World Lousy (St. John the Evangelist, 2016) and creative blogging for Seven Voices

Production Manager – Rebecca Carter

Becky is a first year undergraduate studying Mathematics at Lady Margaret Hall and the current social secretary of TAFF. In her time so far in Oxford she has worked as Production Manager on Richard II (O’Reilly 2016), and as Assistant Production Manager and Assistant Stage Manager for RENT (Oxford Playhouse 2015). She has also been Stage Manager for Phantom of the Opera (O’Reilly 2016), Constellations (O’Reilly 2016) and Breathing Corpses (O’Reilly 2015). Over the long vacation she will be taking on the role of Production Manager for a stage adaptation of Philip Pullman’s The Ruby in the Smoke, touring in Oxford, London and the Edinburgh Fringe

Costume Designer – Christina Hill

Christina is a first year reading Classics at St Hugh’s College. She first became involved in Oxford drama as a dresser for Singin’ in the Rain (Oxford Playhouse, 2015) and an assistant stage manager in Spring Awakening (O’Reilly, 2015). She has designed costumes for The Changing of the Guard (O’Reilly, 2016), directed by Iqbal Khan, RENT (Oxford Playhouse, 2016), Fahrenheit 451 (Pilch, 2016), Twelfth Night (Worcester Gardens, 2016), and was a costume assistant for The Phantom of the Opera (O’Reilly, 2016). Alongside Anything Goes, she is currently designing for The Nether (Oxford Playhouse, 2016) and is a member of the TAFF committee.

Stage Manager – Maya Ghose

Maya Ghose is a second year undergraduate reading Classical Archaeology and Ancient History at Corpus Christi College. She is the TAFF secretary and has directed This World Lousy (SJE, 2016); stage managed Cabaret (Pembroke, 2016), Sweeney Todd (Queen’s Gardens, TT’16), and Phantom of the Opera (O’Reilly, 2016); acted as stage manager/co-production manager for Spring Awakening (O’Reilly, 2015); production manager/co-production designer/chorus for Hippolytus (Oriel Gardens, 2015); assistant director for String of Pearls (BT Studio, 2015); stage manager for I Nominate (BT Studio, 2015); and producer for The Dumbwaiter (BT Studio, 2015). She will be Assistant Director for Touch Therapy (Paradise in The Vault, Edinburgh Fringe ‘16) and Stage Manager for Anything Goes (Playhouse, 2016). Before Oxford, she was on her school’s theatre committee and directed the Rocky Horror Show (2014) and one-act play Courting 101 (2013). She has stage-managed Ragtime (2014) and The Static (2014) and assistant stage- managed Bat Boy the Musical (2013) in addition to various minor acting roles.

Deputy Stage Manager – Katie Carlson

Katie is a first year English student at Univ. She has balanced creative and technical roles during her first year. She was the Producer for ‘Richard II’ (O’Reilly, 2015), the Writer and Director for Univ’s Cuppers (BT Studio, 2015), the Stage Manager for ‘The Master and Margarita’ (St. John’s Gardens, 2015), a Sound Assistant for ‘Rent’ (Oxford Playhouse, 2016), a Costume Assistant for ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ (O’Reilly, 2016), the Sound Operator for ‘Table For None’ (Pilch, 2015), and the Lighting Designer for the Univ Revue (University College, 2016). She is on the committees of TAFF, OBA and Magdalen Film Society, and is the OUDS College Rep for Univ. In the future, she hopes to move more into writing and directing, and is looking forward to taking ‘Not Quite Write’ (The Space, August 2016) to the Edinburgh Fringe as the Sound Designer.
